About Us
NAGA stands for NAtural Grain Alchemy : a magical process of transformation connecting the farmer, the miller, the baker and the eater.
Our three prong mission is to create “Good Food,” to regenerate the land and to reinvigorate our rural economy by shortening the distance between the farmer, the miller and the baker.
We regenerate through nutritious food produced in a way that helps our health, helps our farmers, helps our rural communities and helps our environment.
We started Naga Bakehouse as a way to make a living while being available for our kids and our friends. Perpetually inspired by Bread and Puppet and the idea of food and art for the people, we travelled to Glover every year to take in the imagery.
Figuring out a way to put the pieces together, we stumbled upon Alan Scott, baker and oven builder extraordinaire
and a vision was born...
We were broke at the beginning and created a thriving business from sheer will and determination. Our kids were along for the ride and spent many a weekend elbow deep in flour.
As the years rolled on, we became a well oiled machine, sharing responsibilities in all aspects of the Naga Bakehouse operation.
