About Us
Stone's Throw Farmstead is a half-acre market garden growing diverse vegetables and cut flowers in Vermont's Green Mountains. Using minimal tillage, human-power, and regenerative land ecology practices, Jess and Connor produce beautiful, healthy food for their community. The farm's veggies and flowers are certified organic by Vermont Organic Farmers (VOF) and the Real Organic Project.
Practices
Small flocks of sheep and chickens and a larger flock of composting worms support the farm's fertility program.
Stone's Throw Farmstead is a one-till farm. Meaning, all fields are only tilled once to initiate new fields to production. This one-till approach supports a robust and vital soil biome, requires less fossil fuels to produce food, and sequesters more carbon in the soil.
