Clearfield Farm is a Certified Organic produce farm in Granville, VT owned by Melissa Kosmaczewski and John Hirsch. Our goal is to supply quality vegetables to our local communities most of the year. We specialize in storage crops which we sell from August to April and staple crops in the summer starting at the end of May with our greenhouse production. Our rich riverbottom soils, cover crop reliant fertility program, and our cool climate make our produce nutrient dense and incredibly tasty!

We are growing about 12-15 acres of crops and growing a full season of cover crops after every cash crop. We specialize in root, storage and staple crops. In summer we grow carrots, beets, cabbage, broccolini, cherry tomatoes and shishito peppers. In fall and winter we have fingerling potatoes, carrots, onions and shallots, winter squash, and cabbage. We do not use any plastic mulch in the field and mainly use landscape fabric in the greenhouses. We feel that you can never get all the plastic up and keeping plastic out of our production means we know how to farm without it and have all the tools to make it work. We do not irrigate our fields so we are reliant on Mother Nature, but we do water in transplants with our transplanter. We harvest roots mechanically and do a lot of our work with tractors. We strive to be an asset in Vermont feeding itself!
